A European octogenarian is the recipient of the first-ever 3-D printed jawbone, made of titanium powder that was sintered together one layer at a time. The recipient regained her ability to speak a few hours after the surgery, Belgian doctors said Monday. It could pave the way for a new wave of 3-D printed body parts – maybe not full organs yet, but certainly bones or joints.

L’innovativo filone di ricerca è stato messo a punto da Granitifiandre. «Grazie al biossido di titanio (TiO2) presente sulle lastre in forma di particelle micrometriche- hanno spiegato dall’azienda-in presenza di luce (naturale o artificiale) e dell’umidità contenuta nell’aria, si attiva spontaneamente un forte processo ossidativo. Questa attività oltre ad escludere ogni rischio per la salute dell’uomo e per l’ambiente, porta alla decomposizione e alla trasformazione di molte sostanze tossiche e inquinanti, come ossidi di azoto (NOx), polveri sottili (PM10) e VOC (Volatile Organic Compound), in composti innocui, quali nitrati, solfati e carbonati».           About 90 percent of wastewater produced worldwide remains untreated, causing widespread water pollution. It is estimated that a 30 floor residential accommodation pumps around 120,000 gallons of wastewater per day. According to research, this wastewater is a great source of potential energy. Recently, architectural firm Muoto has developed a concrete solution for treating wastewater pumped out from residential buildings every day.             The Autonome is a mobile phone concept with a unique charging feature. The regular way to do this will be to directly plug-in the phone to the wall socket, negating the use of any cables. Alternatively, you can detach the specialized module, tank it up and then hook it back to the phone and transfer the juice. This ways you get the freedom to use the phone whilst charging the extra ammo. I love the magnesium unibody frame designed for this, and of course the practical solution for charging.
